First Birthday Party

On February 9th we celebrated the birth of my sweet baby girls. It is hard to believe that they are a year old!

This had truly been the best year of my life. We are so thankful for everyone that has helped us throughout this last year. It truly took an army to raise these babies this past year. Just when we thought we had mastered taking care of twins, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. After beating cancer, trying to get my thyroid medication leveled out, then it was time for Christmas madness!! We are so thankful most of our close friends and family were able to celebrate with us. I'll leave you with a few pics from their "cute as a button" birthday party.

Avery doesn't like cake at all! She is not much of a sweets person. Give her fruits and veggies, then she is happy as can be!

Harper is a different story. She LOVED every bit of her cake. We had to peel it away from her...lol!!! It was such a fun party to plan and decorate.

Their big birthday cake! My sweet friend, Udele, did such an amazing job.

After all the celebrating, the girls slept really good that night! The next morning they were ready to rock and roll!!

Dressing Up

Over Spring Break we had beautiful weather, so I enjoyed dressing the girls up in some spring duds. I need to get some shopping done to finish up their spring/summer wardrobe. As always, I just haven't had the time. It will happen someday!!

Avery wasn't into our photo shoot this day...ha ha!!

Alrighty my picture overload is complete! Hope you enjoyed it.

Sickies

Whew....it has been a crazy week in our house. Harper woke up Monday morning with one eye swollen shut.

Took her to the doctor after work and she was in the beginning stages of pink eye. Luckily we caught it just in time. Also, we have been fortunate that it hasn't spread to Avery (knock on wood).

Tuesday she ran a low grade fever. By Wednesday night/Thursday morning it shot up to 103. So glad my mom was here to help me out this week, since Jeremy had to travel for work. Thursday I stayed home with the girls and she finally started to feel much better...woo hoo!!

She was still needing lots of loving though. I'll take that any day, sick or not.

I don't like seeing my sweet babies sick, but I guess it's just part of growing up. Hoping next week we are free of sickies and can just have some fun!!

Dallas Rock and Roll Half Marathon

Many moons ago, while on bed rest, I made my one and only postpartum goal...run my fourth half marathon. Since January I have been training hard and waking up at 4:30 in the morning to get my training runs in. The day before the race we headed down to downtown Dallas for the expo. The girls people watching!

Especially rocking out with their daddy! Don't they look thrilled...ha ha!!

This half was by far my hardest!! Running after having children is so much harder than it was before. My goal was just to finish, I didn't care about my time. It was definitely my worst time, 2 hours 30 minutes, but I don't care at all.

After bed rest, giving birth to twins, and surviving thyroid cancer...I'll take anything I can get. So thankful I'm healthy enough to complete a half!! Now I'm ready to train for another one. Definitely have running fever again!!!

Dreaming of Pool Days

Summer is my second favorite season, next to Spring! We are hearing up for summer and ready to plan some pool days with our sweet friends. Last week I took the girls swimsuit shopping. Harper decided she wanted to model her new suit.

Of course every little girl needs a sun hat. Mamie was kind enough to buy them each one.

Avery is thrilled to have another accessory to wear...lol!!

After I bought their swimsuits I took them to get monogrammed. Jeremy just rolled his eyes because he didn't think it was necessary. Oh well it happen anyway!

Too cute...right?!?! Alright summer you can come anytime now!

All about the accessories

Avery's newest love is accessories. She started using her Easter basket like a purse and picking up little treasures around the house to carry. Needless to say, their Easter baskets got a lot of good use this year!

For Easter Mamie (my mom) and Gigi ( my grandma) bought the girls each a purse. Now they each have two adorable purses! They have been put to good use the last couple of days.

A couple of weeks ago we went to a birthday party. The party favors had sunglasses in them. The girls absolutely love them!

The lenses only lasted a day, then Avery decided they were no longer necessary so she poked them out.

These pics just crack me up!!

St. Patrick's Day

On St. Patty's day we headed down to the Arboretum to meet some friends.

If you have never been to the Dallas Arboretum, it is a must see of you are ever in town. The tulips are gorgeous this time of year!!

The girls enjoyed strolling around and playing with their sweet friend Mia.

We bought a membership this year, so we plan on going back frequently.
