We're on the final stretch...36 weeks. Bonus...Nursery Pics

I'm excited to announce that we finally have birthday set for Harper and Avery. My c-section will be on Monday, February 6th. It is so nice to see light at the end of the tunnel. I've been laying in this hospital bed for 72 days, finally nice to have a day to countdown too. Please say prayers for us on Monday. My delivery is considered high risk due to the cord insertion issue with the twins. Although I'm very excited and anxious, a huge part of me is scared. I have complete faith in my doctor and the staff here at the hospital.

On a lighter note, I have pictures of the completed nursery below. I am in LOVE with it!! It totally exceeds what I imagined it would look like. Can't wait to see it in person!

I look exhausted because I am. That's a lot of baby right there.

Jeremy is obsessed with close up pics of the belly. Here is one from Monday.

How Far Along: 36 Weeks
Size of baby:  Avery is 5.4 and Harper is 5.6
Gender: Two precious girls...Harper Faith Kendle and Avery Ryan Kendle
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing my pj's.
Weight gain: 26 pounds total
Sleep: Still sleeping really well.
Symptoms: Reflux is much better this week. I'm taking Pepcid twice a day to keep it under control. Also, I can't eat too much because there is just no more room. My stomach is so restricted, since the babies have taken over my tummy.
Cravings: Little Debbie Valentine cupcakes. Jeremy has been on the hunt to find them. Why I want them...I'm not really sure.
Best moments this week:
My Grandma Barnes bought these adorable dresses for the twins. I cannot wait to see Harper and Avery in them.

The McKie family sent these to me yesterday. It really was uplifting to receive them because I had a rough day yesterday. I waited all day for my ultrasound, in addition to waiting on Dr. H to schedule my c-section. Needless to say, the flowers came at just the right time. Thank you McKie family. You are the best!!
Pregnancy Highlights:

The babies are still packing on the pounds. They are shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered their body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected their skin during their nine-month amniotic bath. The babies swallow both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of their first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, the babies will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.)

Last, but not least, here Harper and Avery's nursery. It is PERFECT!

  3. Heidi....72 days is hard core stuff! I spent 6 days then home 14, then 21 days..then babies had 23 days in NICU. The 21 days I did not leave the hospital were challenging. So 72 is simply amazing. You are an amazing mom! I'm praying for Harper and Avery's safe arrival even more today! I know it'll be while likely before you post happy news due to surgery etc... But I trust god is going to carry your family of 4 thru this!
