3 Weeks Old

Avery and Harper are 3 weeks old today. They are growing and changing a little too quickly for my liking. Avery is a little cuddle bug. While Harper loves to male us laugh. She constantly cracks a smile and seems to have a really fun personality. We go back to the pediatrician for another check up on Monday.

Bath Time!

Our first real bath time was a success. Harper is pretty easy going and loved it.

Avery, on the other hand, didn't enjoy it too much! She still is trying to get into bath time. Hopefully over time she will learn to love it...ha ha!

Avery and Harper turned 2 weeks old last Monday. We went to the pediatrician for the second time for a well check. Both girls are gaining weight and getting bigger...yay! Avery weighs 5 lbs. 10 oz. and Harper is 5 lbs. 8oz. Both are 19 inches long.

Right now I'm exclusively pumping. It's a lot of work, but I like knowing how much they get. Plus it makes feeding them by myself much easier. We are still supplementing with formula as well.

Avery and Harper seem to be pretty good sleepers. We continue to wake them every 3 hours to eat. Hopefully we can extend out those night feedings at some point.

We love them to pieces! I still can't believe they are our babies. It is truly surreal.

Avery and Harper are here!

On Monday, February 6th Avery and Harper were born at 4:56 p.m. within 20 seconds of each other. We love them so much and are thrilled our two little miracles are here. We are now home and settling in. Once I have a chance I'll blog about the details of their birthday.

SUYL - All the Single Ladies!!!

Every few months one of my favorite blogs, Kelly's Korner, hosts Show Us Your Life - Singles Edition. Well today is the day!! I would love to help my sweet friend, Meredith, find her Mr. Right! I know God has someone special waiting for her...we just need to find him.

Meredith is a 31 year old southern girl living in the Dallas area. She has an amazing job as a mortgage consultant. Not only is she gorgeous, but she is one of the most kind, giving and compassionate people I know. I am so lucky to have her as a friend!

Meredith graduated from the University of Oklahoma...Boomer Sooner! We became friends several years ago when I joined our sorority, Phi Mu at OU. Meredith later became my big sister in our sorority, my maid of honor and most importantly, a life long friend!

On her spare time, Meredith LOVES to travel. She has traveled to more places than anyone I know. Cruises are right up her alley, but she also loves a good resort too. Before I got pregnant, Meredith and I would take an annual girls grip. In 2010 we decided to go to Play del Carmen, Mexico. Just like every trip we have been on, we made lots of fun memories.

When Meredith isn't traveling, she loves to spoil her sweet dog Cee Cee. Let me tell you, Cee Cee deserves every bit of it. She is such a sweet and cuddly dog. I love going to Mer's house to visit her.

Not only does Meredith love to spoil her sweet  Cee Cee, but the girl can cook. Oh my goodness...everything she creates is amazing. My husband would go to her house for every meal if he could. Here is one of her masterpieces from Thanksgiving. It was AMAZING!!!

Somewhere out there is a sweet, loyal, honest man that is perfect for Meredith. If you think you know who her Mr. Right is, please leave a comment on this post with your email address. Meredith is such a beautiful person inside and out!

We're on the final stretch...36 weeks. Bonus...Nursery Pics

I'm excited to announce that we finally have birthday set for Harper and Avery. My c-section will be on Monday, February 6th. It is so nice to see light at the end of the tunnel. I've been laying in this hospital bed for 72 days, finally nice to have a day to countdown too. Please say prayers for us on Monday. My delivery is considered high risk due to the cord insertion issue with the twins. Although I'm very excited and anxious, a huge part of me is scared. I have complete faith in my doctor and the staff here at the hospital.

On a lighter note, I have pictures of the completed nursery below. I am in LOVE with it!! It totally exceeds what I imagined it would look like. Can't wait to see it in person!

I look exhausted because I am. That's a lot of baby right there.

Jeremy is obsessed with close up pics of the belly. Here is one from Monday.

How Far Along: 36 Weeks
Size of baby:  Avery is 5.4 and Harper is 5.6
Gender: Two precious girls...Harper Faith Kendle and Avery Ryan Kendle
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing my pj's.
Weight gain: 26 pounds total
Sleep: Still sleeping really well.
Symptoms: Reflux is much better this week. I'm taking Pepcid twice a day to keep it under control. Also, I can't eat too much because there is just no more room. My stomach is so restricted, since the babies have taken over my tummy.
Cravings: Little Debbie Valentine cupcakes. Jeremy has been on the hunt to find them. Why I want them...I'm not really sure.
Best moments this week:
My Grandma Barnes bought these adorable dresses for the twins. I cannot wait to see Harper and Avery in them.

The McKie family sent these to me yesterday. It really was uplifting to receive them because I had a rough day yesterday. I waited all day for my ultrasound, in addition to waiting on Dr. H to schedule my c-section. Needless to say, the flowers came at just the right time. Thank you McKie family. You are the best!!
Pregnancy Highlights:

The babies are still packing on the pounds. They are shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered their body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected their skin during their nine-month amniotic bath. The babies swallow both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of their first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, the babies will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.)

Last, but not least, here Harper and Avery's nursery. It is PERFECT!
