35 Weeks and Nursery Pics

Today I had my weekly sono. As always, the babies looked great. They continue to be very healthy and active. We still don't know when I will deliver. It will be anytime between February 1st and February 7th, unless I go into labor on my own. Next week we will have a date set. Today, they got a picture of my sweet Avery. Harper wasn't in a good position this week for a photo. I'm so in love with these babies and cannot wait to meet them!!!!

Avery - 35 Weeks

How Far Along: 35 Weeks
Size of baby: Avery at 4 lb. 12 oz. and Harper at 4 lb. 2 oz.
Gender: Two precious girls...Harper Faith Kendle and Avery Ryan Kendle
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing my pj's.
Weight gain: 25 pounds total
Sleep: Still sleeping really well.
Symptoms: Reflux...not fun at all!! Monday it was hard to keep any food down due to my reflux. Cravings: No cravings!
Best moments this week:

  • Our rocking chair has arrived. It looks so good in the nursery. Thank you Mema and Papa.
  • Today the baby bedding arrived. Thank you mom for helping us out! I can't wait to see it in their cribs. Here is a sneak peek!

Pregnancy Highlights:
The twins don't have much room to maneuver now that they are getting bigger. Because it's so snug in your womb, it isn't likely they will be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times they kick should remain about the same. Their kidneys are fully developed now, and their liver can process some waste products. Most of their basic physical development is now complete — they'll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.

Moving right along...34 weeks

WOW we are moving right along. It is hard to believe that I'm already 34 weeks. The babies continue to be very active and move all of the time. I treasure all of those movements with them. Yesterday I had an ultrasound and my regular OB joined in to see the ultrasound for himself. He was able to see the velamentous cord insertion. We discussed possibly doing an amnio at 36 weeks to check for lung maturity. Jeremy and I are very nervous about doing this procedure. Both doctors said that we can refuse it and it will not be a problem. They also mentioned that we could decide if we want to deliver that week. So, as it stands now we don't have an exact delivery date, but we will more than likely have two precious little girls in a couple of weeks. As soon as we have more definite details, I'll be sure to write a post.

Weight gain: 24 pounds total. Gained 3 pounds since last week!

Best moments this week:
  • Over the past week I have had lots of visitors, which I absolutely love. It makes the time fly by a lot faster.
  • Tomorrow our rocker is being delivered. Thank you Mema and Papa, I know it will look perfect in the nursery!
  • Also, this past weekend my friends Mindy and Christie added a few more touches to the nursery. Here are some pictures...

Pregnancy Highlights:
Their fat layers — which will help regulate her body temperature once they're born — are filling them out, making them rounder. Their skin is also smoother than ever. Their central nervous system is maturing. Babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies.

The countdown is on...33 weeks!

It has been another good week in the hospital. As you can tell by my picture below, the babies are getting big. Everyday I look at myself and wonder how much larger can I get. I am so thankful that I don't have stretch marks yet, hoping they stay away!! The babies have been busy as usual moving a lot. Harper has a foot in my rib. Thankfully her kicks are not too violent yet.

Dr. H still hasn't given us an indication as to when he will do a c-section. I'm assuming he will give us an indication when I'm 35 weeks. So much can change in such a short amount of time that he won't commit to a date just yet. My goal is to make it to 36 weeks.

How Far Along: 31 Weeks
Size of baby: Last week they measured Avery at 3 lb. 14 oz. and Harper at 3 lb. 8 oz. My high risk doctor will measure them again next week.
Gender: Two precious girls...Harper Faith Kendle and Avery Ryan Kendle
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing my pj's.
Weight gain: 21 pounds total. Unfortunately no weight gain this week.
Sleep: Still sleeping really well.
Symptoms: None this week.
Cravings: No cravings!
Best moment this week: Finally getting a good picture of Harper. Avery is not in a good position for a profile picture, so I don't have one to share of her. Here is Harper!
Pregnancy Highlights:
They are rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and their skeleton is hardening. The bones in their skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for them to fit through the birth canal. These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as their brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

32 Weeks and Counting

It has been a great week here in the hospital!! The babies are moving a lot and seem to be getting bigger everyday. As you can tell in my picture below, they have grown a lot since last week. My tummy looks HUGE!!! Dr. H still isn't giving us any indication as to when they will schedule the c-section. Still just taking it week by week. I have a feeling they will be here by the end of January. The reason I say that is because he doesn't want me to go into labor on my own because of the velamentous cord insertion issue. It would be much safer if we have a scheduled c-section. Time will only tell. Thank you for the continued prayers.

I look huge compared to the picture last week!

How Far Along: 32 Weeks
Size of baby: Yesterday they measured Avery at 3 lb. 14 oz. and Harper at 3 lb. 8 oz.
Gender: Two precious girls...Harper Faith Kendle and Avery Ryan Kendle
Maternity Clothes: Still wearing my pj's.
Weight gain: 21 pounds total. Three pounds in a week...WOW!
Sleep: Still sleeping really well.
Symptoms: Still having some braxton hicks and round ligament pain. This is the first week that I have felt uncomfortable. Eating is getting much harder because I just don't have any room for it to go.
Cravings: No cravings!
Best moment this week: There have been several wonderful moments this week.
  • Jeremy and my mom were busy at the house over the weekend. They rearranged furniture, took down the Christmas decor and rearranged a couple of closets. It's such a relief that I won't have to worry about it when I get home. J
  • Jeremy had a rather long list of items that we needed to buy before the babies arrive. He finished the list over the weekend...LOVE my husband to pieces. He has a lot on his plate and seems to be handling it very well.
  • My good friend, Meredith, bought some adorable onsie's for the twins. Can't wait to see them on Harper and Avery.
  • Another wonderful friend brought us a bottle of champagne to enjoy after the babies arrive. Thank you Misty!
  • My father in law came down to Dallas on Saturday and surprised us. Jeremy was thrilled to spend time with him.
  • Yesterday we received some beautiful flowers from Melissa and Jordan (my brother-in-law and sister-in-law). They are refreshing to look at here in my room.

Pregnancy Highlights:
According to Babycenter I should be gaining about a pound a week and roughly half of that goes right to the  babies. In fact, they will gain a third to half of her birth weight during the next few weeks as they fatten up for survival outside the womb. They now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). Their skin is becoming soft and smooth as they plump up in preparation for birth.

Well that is it until next week!
