Gender Revel Party/Baby Shower

On October 22nd, five of my sweet friends hosted a gender reveal/baby shower. We are so blessed to have such generous and supportive friends and family. The day couldn't have been more perfect! Our little girls are so lucky to have such wonderful people to look up to in the future. I'll stop jabbering and let the pictures do the talking.
My sweet friend, Udele, made the adorable gender reveal cake. It tastes as yummy as it looks.

My guess was a boy and girl...obviously I was wrong!

Time to cut the cake!

The frosting layers in the cake were both pink....two sweet little girls are on the way.

Jeremy's mom gave him a pretty creative gift....a daddy fanny pack full of all the tools he will need to change diapers.

One of my favorite gifts was from my sweet husband....my diaper bag.

I'm so lucky to have such a sweet and supportive husband.

22 Weeks and an Ultrasound

22 Weeks with Harper and Avery
How Far Along: 22 Weeks
Size of baby: 11 inches and almost a pound. About as long as a spaghetti squash.
Gender: Two precious girls...Harper Faith Kendle and Avery Ryan Kendle
Maternity Clothes: Some regular shirts and dresses, but mostly maternity.
Weight gain: 15 pounds total...Dr. Herzog told me to stop eating bread, pasta and rice. He only wants me to gain a pound a week from here on out. His goal is for me to gain no more than 30 pounds total. So, I have been really watching EVERYTHING that goes in my mouth this week. I weighed myself this evening and I have lost 1/2 a pound since Monday.
Movement: Moving and kicking like crazy. It's such an amazing feeling.
Sleep: Having major hip pain when I sleep. Finally had to break down and buy a body pillow. Sleeping so much better at night.
Symptoms: Reflux when I eat tomoto based foods or spicy food...so I just avoid it.
Cravings: Nothing in particular.
Best moment this week: Having all of our family and friends together for the gender reveal. Also, getting to see our babies at our appointment on Monday.
Pregnancy Highlights: The babies are starting to look like miniature newborns. Their lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and they are even developing tiny tooth buds beneath their gums. Their eyes have formed, but their irises still lack pigment. If you looked inside the womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair that covers their body and deep wrinkles on their skin. Inside their belly, their pancreas - essential for the production of some important hormones - are still developing.

Harper (Baby B) at 21 weeks and 6 days. She weighs approximately 8 oz. and had a heart rate of 172. As you can tell, she didn't want to cooperate for a picture. She is very, very active and wouldn't stay still. Throughout my whole pregnancy, she has always been the most active between the two.

Avery (Baby A) at 21 weeks and 6 days. She is approximately 9 oz., which as expected, is smaller than what  Baby Center says on their website. Her heart rate was at 132, which is normal.

We are having....

Two precious baby girls!!!!!!

We cannot wait to meet Harper Faith and Avery Ryan in February. We had a gorgeous gender reveal/baby shower on Saturday. As soon as I get some pictures from my friends and family, I'll post them to the blog. For now, here are some adorable hats my grandma bought for the girls.

Are these not the cutest?!?! Can't wait to find an outfit to match.

How Far Along: 20 Weeks
Size of baby: 6.5 inches and 10.5 ounces. About as long as a banana.
Gender: We will find out at our gender reveal party on October 22nd. I'm getting very anxious and curious.
Maternity Clothes: Some regular shirts and dresses, but mostly maternity.
Weight gain: 10 approximately...we'll find out at my appointment on Octob er 24th.
Movement: Moving and kicking like crazy. It's such an amazing feeling.
Sleep: Having major hip pain when I sleep. I'm surprised, since I'm not huge yet.
Symptoms: No symptoms at all. Still have lots of energy.
Cravings: Nothing in particular.
Best moment this week: Jeremy finally felt the babies kick. He was thrilled!!
Pregnancy Highlights: The babies are swallowing more these days, which is good practice for their digestive system. They are also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and we'll see it in his first soiled diaper.

Sleep: Having major hip pain when I sleep. I'm surprised, since I'm not huge yet.
Symptoms: No symptoms at all. Still have lots of energy.

Best moment this week: Getting out house ready for our family to come into town. Jeremy put one of the cribs together. Pictures below of the crib and Jeremy trying to figure out how to put it together.
Pregnancy Highlights: The babies feel like they are practicing martial arts and their initial fluttering movements turn into full-fledged kicks and nudges. I may also discover a pattern to their activity as I get to know them better. In other developments, the babies eyebrows and lids are present now. (All information from babycenter.com
